Birthday plannin' 2017
Mar. 5th, 2017 10:49 pmThings to Eat:
The Perch in Chandler. Normal/reasonable prices, commonish food with nicer ingredients. Cheap enough that I could invite more people PLUS it's a Friday so more might even show up! Garden or rooftop seating and TROPICAL RESCUE BIRDS.
Rustler's Rooste Steakhouse up at South Mountain. Typical steakhouse stuff but they have swordfish and say they have rattlesnake though I didn't see it on the menu. $20-30 on average. Interesting history and location.
Quiessence at the Farm Phoenix South Mountain. Farm to table American. Mentioned on two different lists! EXPENSIVE, especially for meat. Shame, it sounds really interesting.
Hanny's in downtown PHX. Department store turned firefighter training location turned restaurant. 15-20ish, salads, sandwiches, pizza, a couple meaty plates, great sounding apps. Architecturally interesting, local enough that a lot of people could come, reasonably priced. DJ!
The Yard in Phoenix. $15-20s, some amazing looking apps and dishes. Relaxed atmosphere and games (cornhole!) and you could probably spend a few hours there tbh if you're not trying to get anywhere after.
Places to Go:
Arizona Science Center
R+C would be all over this, I haven't gone and really ought to. Lots of stuff to do and it's probably changing all the time so even if you've been there you can find something interesting! Closes at 5 so might be best to go the next day.
Rosson House
Old Victorian home and museum, supposedly haunted. Sounds interesting, closes at 4 so go Saturday or by myself.
Hall of Flame Fire Museum
History of firefighting throughout the world! Closes at 5.
