The world was right when he woke up, but he didn't realize it at first. His body might be tangled in his bed, but in his mind he was curled up in a sleeping bag on the Great Hall floor, in that strange, similar-but-different Hogwarts, the one where Emmerdale Pye wasn't real no matter how he felt about it, no matter how many memories he had.

He figured it was just morning disorientation, and shook it off like a dream. But he couldn't shake off the gloom, or the surprise when people called him by his name.

It didn't hit him until he saw Morgan.

She wasn't different. She was the same as always. But she looked at him different -- like he was normal, like she wasn't worried -- and he suddenly remembered he hadn't seen that in a week.

"Talk," she said when she hunted him down that night. He thought he'd hid his shock pretty well, but you couldn't hide from Morgan. Her eyes said there was no way out of this. No excuses. She knew him too well. How could he resist?

"Fuck, Em," she said when he stopped for breath.

He started laughing. He couldn't help it. It was that or kiss her.

"That's my girl."
