Phone options
Jan. 13th, 2016 07:57 pmOkay, what do I need and want out of a phone?
I need one that is not my current one. Easy. I need it to be smaller. Also easy, as mine is a monster.
I would like a camera that's as good as my current one. That means 8 megapixels.
I would like a bit more storage space than I currently have at 32 GB. But I can make do with that, too.
RAM? 1 GB is fine. I don't need anything fancy.
I would like a better battery than I currently have, which claims it's 16 hours of talk time and 5+ days standby. HA, I say. I would like a removable battery too because I just think that's a good idea.
ZTE Overture 2 NOT a good option, has multiple reviews about problems I really don't want to deal with.
LG Leon/Riso terrible battery, slow, gets hot
HTC Desire 520 has a comparable rear-facing camera and the front-facing one is better! Resolution is not as good, but I don't care that much. Talk time is 12 hours which seems more than sufficient, I'd never talk more than that. Battery capacity is comparable. 5.5x2.7 so it's almost an inch less wide which is GREAT. Slightly less fast (but that changes when you put stuff on it anyway) with the same RAM. Storage not great but you can get a microSD card to improve that and it's fairly cheap. Not a bad choice, esp since it's only $20 when switching to Cricket.
Ah, but...
Microsoft Lumia 640 and ooh, this has good reviews. 5.56 x 2.84. 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage but with microSD, up to 128 GB. Camera: 8/2.2 MP. 2500 mAh battery which is BIGGER than my current! Appears to have a removable battery. I can get it for 60 if I switch before 1/21.
...yeah, I want the Lumia.
